Police investigating armed robbery at Sutton pub

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Flying Squad are investigating an armed robbery in Sutton on Sunday.

A group of men wearing balaclavas and white overalls entered The HG Wells Pub on Cheam Common Road at around 10:00pm.

One man was carrying a handgun and others were armed with knives.

The suspects stabbed a member of staff in the leg, before locking bystanders in a room and attempting remove the safe.

The suspects, who were described as black, then made off with some stolen cash in a silver Vauxhall Astra.

There have been no arrests so far.
