The Where’s Wally? charity fun run makes a return to Clapham Common on Sunday.
Organised by the National Literacy Trust, runners, book-lovers and families can the celebrations by dres as Wally in aid of increasing literacy skills for disadvantaged children.
The fun run returns to Clapham Common for the second successive time, where more than 1000 people sported their red and white stripes for last year’s event.
Participants can with an official Where’s Wally? costume, which includes the iconic stripy top and bobble hat and glasses.
For the first time this year, everyone who takes part will also receive a copy of Where’s Wally? The Sticker Book! upon completion.
The event also has a festival area which includes live music, a range of food stalls and a book sale as well as fun rides and free games for children.
The National Literacy Trust’s Senior Fundraising and Events Manager Suzi Curran said: “We can’t wait to celebrate 30 years of Where’s Wally? with our biggest fun run yet.
“The iconic books have introduced thousands of children across the country to Wally’s magical world of illustrative stories.”
There is an option to do a 5K or 10K course for anyone over the age of 8, while a 1K course is available to under 12s and families can be split across different runs.
Ms Curran added: “We are calling on families, friends and book-lovers to this fantastic event and our work to inspire more disadvantaged children to enjoy reading, which will improve their chances in life.
“We can’t wait to see you on 19 March wearing your stripes!”
